It all started with a trip to Beckinscot Model Village after which we popped into a model show on the way home, and a cheap day out became a major hobby in the Garden!

Initialy we started with the usual LGB toy train and some American Outline Bachman, basicaly whatever we could pick up cheapish to get us going, but now I am gradualy building or converting models into British/Irish outline narrow gauge. The Diesel above is my first scratch Built (apart from the Bachman power bogies) and represents a Walker Brothers Diesel as used on the West Clair Railway in Irland during the 1950's. I'm currently working on some Irish looking freelance coaches I am converting from Bachman Jackson and Sharpe's and also a rake of 3 VofR coaches using bodysides made by Engineers Lazer (excellent product and service BTW)

In time I'd like to add a Live steam loco to the Garden, but one thing at a time!

The bridge was  a mornings work and uses some overflow pipe for the supporting arches, a cpouple of bits of 2 X 1 and some wood dowling- easy!

This loco is a Bachman 45 Tonner, cut about to look British. I've taken20mm off the width, joined the two noses together and built a new cab, and as with all my loco's now it is Battery, Radio control. The trucks are Bachman American New York Central items painted grey and Black to give a nice British look about them!
